Teepookana River Retreat

Teepookana (an Aboriginal word for Kingfisher) River Retreat is an absolute must for families wanting to “get away from it all” and spend some time in a very remote exclusive part of the Murray River between Echuca and Barmah.

Teepookana River Retreat has since the mid 70’s been a private retreat and has only just recently been opened to the public by Di and Roland Huber.

Teepookana River Retreat is only 250meters from the Murray on the banks of the Deep Creek which is a wide and deep creek permanently filled from the Murray. It is only a 15 min drive from the Barmah forest, largest river red gum wetlands in the world, and only a 25min drive to the famous Echuca historical paddle steamer port, both of which are also easily accessible by boat from the retreat.

Teepookana River Retreat has a fully self-contained unit and can accommodate up to 8 people. It is equipped with a full kitchen (including dishwasher), dining area and lounge room (with TV and DVD) and is air-conditioned. There are two ensuite bathrooms and laundry facilities are available.

An under cover outdoor area and barbeque facilities are also available for guests to use, as well as the outdoor solar heated swimming pool (open from September – April).
