Mount Cole WineWorks

Owned by Graeme and Carolyn Bertuch, Mt Cole Wineworks was established in the late 1990's in a valley at Mount Cole, near the well known Langi Ghiran vineyard.

This is in the Grampians Wine Region and the heart of Victoria Felix.

The vineyard specializes in shiraz, with soils and climate suiting this variety. Cool nights and warm days ripen the fruit late in the season. The soil is granitic loam over red clay, allowing true expression of the shiraz variety in the wine.

The Gallery

Carolyn Thomas

Renowned local artist Carolyn Thomas has exhibited both locally and internationally and has an exciting collection of original and innovative pictures available for purchase. She uses a wide range of media to create her stunning pieces - which are also exhibited at the local café The Vines.

She has been a finalist in the Mandorla Award in Western Australia and her artwork is exhibited in the New Norcia Gallery.

Whilst her interests in art and media are varied, there can be no denying her talent and flair for drawing the female nude. With a few charcoal lines or paint, she captures the sensuous beauty of the female form.

Other pieces available for viewing and purchase include paintings featuring toys, the Chinese Opera, landscapes, vines and flowers.

Her many exhibitions have been well received and she continues to create beautiful and evocative artwork.

Graeme Bertuch

Somehow amongst being a full time doctor in Ararat and making fantastic wines, Graeme manages to also draw and paint! He has been painting and drawing since 1970, and has work in private collections, both in rural Victoria, and in Melbourne. He is mainly a self-taught artist, but has studied figure drawing under Yvonne Audette for eight years, travelling to Melbourne to do so. He works in a variety of media - eg, oil, acrylic, gouache, pastel and mixed media.

His ouvre includes medical themes, landscapes, figure drawing, and a semi-abstract interpretation to the environment. He continues to draw and paint, practice medicine and develop a local vineyard.
