Mungo National Park Day Tour

Mungo National Park is located 110 kilometers north east of Mildura, entry is via an unsealed road. Mungo will delight visitors with its amazing landscape and history.

On arrival you will be treated to a cuppa and cake etc. You will have about one hour to browse through the visitor centere where ther is a cultural display explaining all the ancient history of mungo. You can wander through the old shearing shed which was built from local cypress pine in 1869 by chinese labourers.

Next we drive across the ancient lake bed to the Walls of China where I will lead you on a facscinating walk over the walls. The walk is a very easy 2 kilometers . If you choose not to walk, that's fine - there are seats available. On the walk you will see ancient aboriginal fire places, shell middens, and other remains.

We then drive to to the western lookout where we enjoy a packed lunch and maybe spot some major mitchells and other native parrots .

On our return journey, we stop off at Orange World a popular stop for tourists, where you will enjoy a complementary glass of orange juice .

Mungo National Park Sunset Tour

Why choose a sunset tour, The sunset tour leaves Mildura at 3pm, travelling in air-conditioned comfort arriving at Mungo as the tempeture begins to fall, you then have one hour of free time to browse through the culture centre, where there is an abundance of displays of years gone by, you can also wander through the old shearing shed where the structure of this old building will amaze you.

We then take a short drive back to the four star Mungo Lodge where you will be served a beautiful meal, cold beer and a good selection of wine is also available.

After relaxing in the lodge for an hour or more we board the vehicle again and drive across the ancient lake bed to the walls of china as the kangaroos begin to emerge for the evening.

At the walls I will lead you on a fascinating walk over the dunes where you will see ancient aboriginal fire places, shell middens,old bones etc , the walk is a very easy two kilometer stroll and if you choose not to do the walk there are seats available where you can just sit and relax and watch the sun set.
