Grampians Estate, is a small family owned boutique winery in the Grampians Wine Region. Tom Guthrie first planted Shiraz and Chardonnay vines in 1989 on the family property bordering the Grampians National Park, and with Sarah, they produced their first vintage in 1995. Together with their two children Pollyanna & Ford, the family aims to produce the very best premium wine, led by their flagship wines the Streeton Reserve Shiraz and Rutherford Sparkling Shiraz.

The Grampians Estate labels feature several of Sir Arthur Streeton’s famous artworks, the most iconic being the Land of the Golden Fleece, which is used on many of the labels. The painting features the vineyard location and was painted from the next door property “Yarram Park”, the property on which Sarah spent her childhood.

In the summer of 2006, the Grampians region was widely devastated by bushfires.  Tom and Sarah’s property was one of those properties affected; over 90% of the vines were either burnt of scorched.  With the help of eight local and regional wineries, fruit has been donated to continue the winemaking tradition of Grampians Estate, the Friends Shiraz Collection was launched in February of 2008 at a special dinner at the Royal Mail Dunkeld.

Today, the vines have been repaired and nurtured, and from the small 2007 vintage a return to estate grown wines has commenced, whilst local premium fruit has been purchased to make up the shortfall.

Grampians Estate Wines are available to be purchased through mail order, their new Cellar Door on the Western Highway at Great Western, and local cafés and restaurants throughout regional Victoria. Distributors manage our availability in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane restaurants and wine outlets.
